Editorial policy (Blattlinie)

Ottoman Traces is an independent online publication about Ottoman history and the traces the Ottoman era left in Türkiye and Europe.

Articles are based on historical sources and current research; on disputed questions differing views are given, and uncertain information is marked as such. The publication is not affiliated with any political party, religious organisation or state, and aims to present history not from the viewpoint of a single nation but as the shared heritage of the region.
